| My favorite smoothie combines frozen, ripe bananas,
super green food powder, goat protein powder, water, frozen
blueberries (or Fruits of Life powder), coconut oil or flax seed oil
and stevia if needed. The trick to the bananas is to buy a bunch of
organic bananas and let them set on the counter until they get
freckled and ripe. Then peel them all and put them in freezer bags and
freeze them. That way they are at the perfect level of ripeness and
sweetness when you need them. Ingredients:
Add all the ingredients, except the Stevia to a
blender or Vita Mix. Blend until smooth. Taste and add a few drops of
Stevia if not sweet enough. The coconut oil gives a great tropical
taste too.
This smoothie tastes good and is good for you. It
contains a multitude of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, healthy
protein, and healthy fats. So next time you need a “pick me up,” try
making this smoothie instead of reaching for the instant carbs, sugar
or caffeine.
For a festive holiday smoothie, puree some
strawberries and a little apple juice or water separately in a
blender. Swirl or layer in the smoothie for the red & green holiday
effect. |
