Protect Yourself During Cold & Flu Season
by Christine Dreher, CCN, CCH
Cold & Flu Season is the time of year we need preventative support to
stay as healthy and well as possible. The following article summarizes
the best defense products to help us achieve our goal. There are two
main categories for Cold & Flu support including Prevention &
Support/Relief.
Prevention:
Preventative products are recommended to help keep our immune system
strong, so that we are less vulnerable to catching colds & flu. It is
recommended that preventative products be taken daily, on an ongoing
basis for best results. It is not effective to not take them and then
start taking massive amounts at the first symptoms of cold or flu.
Preventative immune support products include those that nourish and
modulate immune function like medicinal mushroom formulas. These
formulas do not stimulate the immune system, so they are supportive
for auto-immune conditions as well.
Medicinal Mushrooms for immune support and modulation:
Nutritional Supplements for prevention help to nourish and strengthen
our immune system by providing the proper nutrients that make us less
susceptible to getting sick.
Preventative Immune Supplements include:
Preventative Herbs can also help protect us from catching colds & flu.
The new
Blockade
(Immunity Take Care) Virus Blocker by New Chapter
are lozenges are made
with an herb called Elderberry, which is known for its immune support
abilities. The unique feature and action of Blockade (Immunity Take
Care) is that it
targets and surrounds envelope viruses and blocks them from entering
human cells instead of stimulating the immune system. Due to its
unique formulation, Blockade (Immunity Take Care) begins working in minutes, not hours.
Gingerforce Supercritical Therapy by New Chapter helps to increase the
bioavailability and activity of other nutrients, herbs and mushrooms.
I highly recommend adding Gingerforce to your daily supplement routine
because of its ability to enhance the effectiveness of other
supplements.
Support & Relief During Cold & Flu Symptoms
Once cold & flu symptoms are present, it is recommended to include
products that tend to stimulate or “kick start” the immune system. Of
course, this is not recommended for those with auto immune disorders
because their immune system is generally too stimulated. But for the
majority of us, stimulating the immune system for short periods of
time during cold & flu symptoms can shorten the duration or lessen the
symptoms of cold & flu.
This is best accomplished with herbs that help stimulate immune
activities, which in turn fight off the invading virus. My favorite
formula for this is
SuperCritical
