Sample recipe from "The Cleanse Cookbook" 1 1/2 Cups Broccoli Stems, well cooked Cut off the tough outer skin from broccoli stems. Place the broccoli stems, lemon juice, cumin and garlic powder in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Christine prefers to blend the tops from the green onions and the green pepper with the broccoli in the food processor for a smoother consistency and greener color. Save the white part of the chopped green onions to add with the remaining ingredients. Transfer to a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. For best flavor, chill before serving. Makes 2 cups or 8 servings. If you like it spicy, Christine recommends adding a jalepeno pepper (whole, with seeds) or cayenne pepper to taste. Per serving: 14 calories, 1g protein, 0.1g fat, 3 g carbohydrates, 0 cholesterol, 5 mg. sodium. This is a fat free version of Guacamole. (Avocados have approx. 30 g of fat each.) So if you are trying to loose weight eat broccomole and if you are trying to gain weight, eat guacamole.
