This 248 "The Cleanse Cookbook" provides healthy (alkaline pH) cleanse recipes that actually encourage the body to detoxify and clean out, helping to balance the body's pH level. Most people are very toxic, due in part, to eating too many processed, acid-forming foods that create congestion and toxicity in the body. This results in an imbalanced pH level and disease. Sample recipe from "The Cleanse Cookbook" 1 1/2 Cups Broccoli Stems, well cooked Cut off the tough outer skin from broccoli stems. Place the broccoli stems, lemon juice, cumin and garlic powder in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Christine prefers to blend the tops from the green onions and the green pepper with the broccoli in the food processor for a smoother consistency and greener color. Save the white part of the chopped green onions to add with the remaining ingredients. Transfer to a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. For best flavor, chill before serving. Makes 2 cups or 8 servings. If you like it spicy, Christine recommends adding a jalepeno pepper (whole, with seeds) or cayenne pepper to taste. Per serving: 14 calories, 1g protein, 0.1g fat, 3 g carbohydrates, 0 cholesterol, 5 mg. sodium. This is a fat free version of Guacamole. (Avocados have approx. 30 g of fat each.) So if you are trying to loose weight eat broccomole and if you are trying to gain weight, eat guacamole.
